We are now in our new space on the outskirts of Jiangdu Village, Xizhou Town, Dali, Yunnan! Thank you so much to Mama Apple and Stepdad Dai Bobo for their loving support as we transition into our new home!
Mama Apple and Stepdad Dai Bobo helped us pack things up in Zhuzhou, Hunan, including a full-size electric drum kit.
They spent several days helping me jump through hoops to get a Chines e drivers license, and then they did most of the driving from Hunan to Yunnan, over 1200 miles!
In Dali, they helped us carefully pack up everything from our Sanwenbi home, where Bei Bei and I stayed last year. With the help of a moving van, we moved everything over to the new place, and they took care of food shopping, cooking, and cleaning. They helped us think about how to organize our new space. They encouraged us to be confident in our negotiations in the lease transfer. They gifted us their car!!
After several weeks of toil, when I expressed my thanks to Stepdad Dai Bobo, he simply said, "必须的 (It must be)".
